You can't have a love story and yet never acknowledge it. It's like Davies was so afraid of giving the Doctor a love life that he didn't dare confirm it, despite there being obvious morsels to that effect throughout. We know the Doctor has had children in the past, so why this obsession with pretending he's some sort of asexual alien?
