Based on the novels of Ann Cleeves, Shetland follows the activities of detective Jimmy Perez, as he deals with the trials and tribulations of island policing. The landscape is beautiful and barren, the characters as idiosyncratic at they come, and the stories as complex as they are brutal. Perfect winter viewing, if only to make you glad you live in a less desolate part of the world.
